Course Updates for Performance Based Navigation & GNSS

EASA has updated its Safety Information Bulletin (SIB) on "GNSS Outages and Alterations leading to communication/navigation/surveillance degradation".

This publication (SIB 2022-02R3) is the third update and reflects the latest analysis and recent phenomena, such as instances where pilots have responded to false Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS PU) pull-up warnings, resulting in high-rate uncoordinated climbs.

SIB 2022-02R3 also clarifies that spoofing is more risky to air operations than jamming. Spoofing is more difficult to detect and can affect multiple systems, resulting in a cumulative effect when multiple systems are affected.

The SIB updates recommendations to the various stakeholders accordingly and is included in infoWERK's courses (PBN, GNSS).
